Things don’t always go as planned, our plans were to be in Moab, Utah all summer but due to different reasons and opportunities, it was best to leave the campground in Moab with only a month into to it. We are currently working at Prospector’s RV Resort in Canon City, Colorado, which is only about 45 minutes from Colorado Springs or Pueblo, it will be fun to see all of our friends in the area! It has been very windy since we got here, it almost feels like we are on a boat in choppy waters!
We had a great trip over to Canon City with a quick stop in Fruita and had dinner with our FedEx friends at Rib City Grill, if only the Hot Tomato was re opened that would have been our first choice, was looking forward to a Granny’s Pesto Pizza or a Stromboli, maybe next time!

We left Fruita after dinner and headed to Montrose Colorado, where we spent the night. We got an early start over all the high elevation passes, we have driven Monarch Pass several times and have been to the Gunnison area, but it has been a couple of years since we have seen the high country, and the scenery was just spectacular!
We made it to Gunnison, now just the climb up to Monarch Pass!
Made it to the top, elevation is 11, 113, the truck pulled it no problem! Look like Old Monarch Pass won’t be open any time soon!
This was coming down Monarch Pass, glad we didn’t need it, but nice it is there just in case!
